Since our founding in 1987, Muslim Community Services (MCS) has been a beacon of support and empowerment for newcomers to Canada. Guided by a team of passionate and diverse professionals, we have dedicated ourselves to fostering meaningful community connections and empowering newcomers to thrive in their new homes. Our start was humble with a handful of employees, passionate about helping the community. Back then, MyCommunity Services was known as Muslim Community Services, but the name has changed over the years to reflect our services more accurately. Our programs grew in capacity and impact year by year. Today, MCS as a non-profit organization provides services across multiple locations in the Region of Peel and Brampton, serving more than 8000 clients a year.
Mission: Our mission is to Strengthen our community by reaching out to those in need. MCS reaches out by supporting individuals and families in acquiring knowledge and developing essential skills.
Values: MCS is a multi-service agency established to meet the needs of diverse multicultural community groups in Peel, with a particular focus on the Newcomer Community. Established in 1987 in Brampton, with 2 employers only, today, MCS has exponentially grown into multi-service agency that is proud to cover over 35 years of serving newcomers, primarily in Brampton and West Mississauga.
